Cali Baby Shower

This weekend we went to Cali for Baby Somers first shower. It was so good to see so many friends and family I hadn't seen in a long time.


I was completely overwhelmed by everyone's generosity.
Baby Somers got so many great gifts.








I can't thank Brooke and Darcee enough for going over the top to make this shower so special for us.








Now to find room for all of the gifts is going to be fun.

The Nursery

After a summer filled with weddings, traveling, and my dad's surgery it was time for me to head back to work:( Of course, we hadn't begun the baby's room and this weekend began the task. Adam did a great job painting, next weekend we will pick up the furniture and start putting the whole room together. I am already at week 28, boy has the time flown by.

Alot has been going on in our family. At the end of July my dad had to have open heart surgery. It turned our life upside down. Almost three weeks later he seems to be recovering and in less then three months he will be ready to play with baby Somers. This picture was taken while I was at home staying with my mom during his surgery.

I just realized that I haven't posted any pics of my growing belly. I am going to post some so you can see how I have grown over the past few months...enjoy! This picture is of me in April.

Summer Update

Well the summer has flown by and it was a busy one. Baby Somers sure did get his share of frequent flyer miles. We started the summer with a family reunion in Jackson Hole, WY with Adam's whole family. Aside from some snow which we weren't expecting we had a wonderful time with family. The next weekend we headed to Minnesota for our good friend Dave's wedding. Then Baby Somers and myself headed to Europe for almost three weeks. Adam is saving up his vacation days so he stayed home:( We visited Holland, Brugge, Rome, Vienna and Budapest. I am glad I got a chance to go with my parents and spend some time with my brother and his family before things get crazy around here.

And now the fun begins...

After months of waiting to see if we were going to have a boy or girl the day finally has come. Not sure if either of us got any sleep last night we were so excited. I even drank a glass of OJ to make sure Baby Somers would be cooperating. About 10 seconds in to our ultrasound all "his" parts were showing. We are thrilled to be having a boy and can't wait to start shopping. All along I thought we would be having a boy and most of our friends and family thought the same.
